PART 1
The first day of term was always the same, the new surroundings, the new teachers and a general sense of moodiness as students had to face the reality of settling in to another year of lessons. The two month summer break did little to prepare the minds of the class as they entered their senior year. The hallways buzzed with the usual chaos; lockers slamming with a rhythmic clang, gossip swirling and the steady hum of teenage energy. Amid this whirlwind, Sophie claimed her desk with a quiet grace, having arrived early knowing she’d have to navigate the labyrinth of her new school. Today, was not just any first day. She had just transferred to one of the top private schools around, a prestigious shift from her previous rough-edged state school, secured by a hard won scholarship and she was determined to conquer it.
Sophie had not always had the best school experience despite being an immensely clever young woman. Her plus sized frame, a cascade of soft curves, voluminous hips and thick thighs had subjected her to bullying in the past. Yet, she had turned those taunts into fuel, burying herself in textbooks and studying hard, her mind a sanctuary from the harsh outside world. Today though, that focus wavered as the bustling classroom fell silent, every eye drawn to the doorway, where there stood a sight that stole her breath. A towering jock, a six-foot-two frame wrapped in a red and white varsity jacket. His wavy brown hair flowed like silk, framing a chiseled jaw and piercing eyes that scanned the room for his crew. Sophie’s gaze lingered, her heart seeming to slow as she drank in his allure.
“Chase”, Miss Fowler’s voice cut through the silence, “would you sit down so we can get started?”
Chase, the name raced through Sophie’s mind like a shooting star across the night sky. As he moved toward the back, their eyes locked, longer than would otherwise be considered normal. For all she knew he was simply wondering who this new addition to the class was. However, a spark seemingly ignited between them as a shiver raced down her spine and she felt the blood drain from her face. He pulled away, joining his friends at the back of the class and leaving Sophie’s heart pounding.
“Okay class, settle down” Miss Fowler announced, her smile warm. “I’d like to introduce our new student, Sophie”. All heads swiveled and Sophie shrank under the sudden spotlight, her inviting blue eyes shimmered with a sense of nervousness as she felt the gaze of fifteen sets of eyes. Her chubby cheeks and stomach now on full display as the class took notice of her for the first time. Were it not for her size then she would have had boys queuing up for her but most could not see past that. Boys had always overlooked her, blind to the beauty beneath her weight.
“I do hope you will all make her feel welcome” continued Miss Fowler as the class rolled their eyes and slumped back in their chairs. Sophie faded back into the shadows, unnoticed so she thought.
As the rest of the homeroom droned on, Miss Fowler’s voice blurred into a dull murmur reciting the usual notices on events, locker assignments and reminders. For the first time in her school career, Sophie was struggling to concentrate. She could not get Chase out of her head. She never dared dream of boys, let alone the school’s hottest jock but that fleeting eye contact clung to her mind like a dream from which she could not wake.
The bell rang, shattering the spell and the room erupted into motion. Her classmates jostled as they clambered to pack their things as quickly as possible, everyone heading to varying parts of the school. The hive of chatter and laughter filled the corridors as Sophie found herself carried along in the wave of students spilling out from homeroom. Old friends reunited, congregating together as they caught up after a long summer. Sophie pulled out her timetable, scanning it to try and find out where she was going. Her finger traced down the page searching for the location of her first class, history. She threw her rucksack onto her back and set off in what she hoped was the right direction like an explorer charting a new path. She hurried though the halls weaving between clumps of people like she was navigating a minefield. Sophie was keen to keep herself to herself as she rushed along, head down staring at the crumpled paper map of the school she had been given by Miss Fowler. “How far away could this class be?” She thought to herself, the journey dwarfing any previous walk at her previous school. The crowd thinned as she turned a corner, the noise fading behind her. She quickened her pace, eyes still fixed on the map, lips moving silently as she tried to match the jumble of letters and numbers to the maze of hallways. So focused was she on deciphering the next turn that she didn’t notice the sudden wall of muscle directly in her path until she walked straight into it. Her rucksack slipped off her shoulder as she stumbled back off balance. The “wall” turned around to reveal a broad figure belonging to a boy surrounded by a small group of laughing friends. His varsity jacket stretched across shoulders that looked like they’d been built for impact.
“Whoa, easy there,” he said, turning around to face an embarrassed Sophie.
Sophie felt like she wanted to just curl up right there and then, the blood draining from her as she struggled to formulate any sort of reply.
“The new girl lost already?” Chase grinned as his crew of friends laughed at the comment. Two guys and a girl, all dressed in the same effortless kind of confidence that came from knowing exactly where they stood in the social order. One of the boys, tall and lanky with a mop of dark hair, laughed first, his voice echoing down the corridor. The other, shorter and quieter, just smirked, folding his arms as if he’d seen this happen a hundred times before. The girl beside them tilted her head, arms crossed, her lip gloss catching the light as she gave Sophie a slow, judgmental sweep and Sophie’s skin prickled with self-consciousness, her breath shallow as she braced for rejection.
“S-S-Sorry” Stammered a startled Sophie, now close enough to Chase to catch the spicy cologne radiating from his neck. She quickly left the group and sped off down the hall.
“Watch, where you’re going next time!” The lanky one called, his tone sharp. Sophie’s heart sank, humiliation flooding her as she hurried off, her steps uneven.
“Hey no need for that Tyler” Chase said, his voice a low rumble as his gaze traced Sophie’s retreating form. Her hips swayed hypnotically, that ample rear end a tantalizing rhythm beneath her skirt as she vanished around the corner
“Is this yours? Asked the shorter one, named Jake as he reached down and picked up a piece of crumpled paper off the floor.
Brittany scoffed, tossing her hair. “Please, do I look like I’d clutch trash like that?”
“It must be that girl’s, Sophie was it?” Chase interjected, snatching it from Jake’s hand with a swiftness that startled the group.
“Whatever dude, I wasn’t gonna eat it!” Laughed Jake clapping Chase’s shoulder.
“I’ll see you guys later! Chase called, already striding down the hall, drawn by the thought of her curves.
The corridors at Bayview had emptied as most of the students had managed to find their way to the first classes of the year, leaving an eerie quiet. Sophie almost had tears in her eyes as she desperately tried to find her classroom. Without her map, the maze of lockers loomed, each turn a dead end. The encounter with Chase and his crew had scrambled her thoughts. His cologne lingered deep within her memory as her brain began to ignite a burning crush.
An ominous gurgle sounded from her stomach, low and insistent. She pressed a hand to her soft belly, a moan escaping her lips. “Ugh, not now” she whispered, her pulse spiking as she recognized the telltale sign. A bubbling pressure building in her gut, promising something fierce.
“Hey, you looking for this?” A familiar voice cut through her haze.
Sophie spun, her breath catching as Chase strolled towards her. She quickly wiped her eyes and offered a weak smile to mask the tears. Her cheeks blushed as the commanding figure approached her. In his hand, Chase waved her crumpled map, the sight of it sending a jolt of relief through her.
“Oh yes!” she breathed, reaching for it, her fingers brushing his and sending a shiver up her arm.
“By the way, the room you’re looking for is just down there on the left” Chase added, his confident smile and cool persona only seeming to place Sophie in more of a fluster.
“Tha-“ Her gratitude choked off as she grimaced at the sound of another rumble emanated from her stomach.
“You okay there?” Enquired Chase, concerned by Sophies suddenly contorted face.
‘Oh yes fine” She added, desperate to keep what was forming inside of her from entering the world.
“Alright, I’ll see you around” He turned and headed down the corridor, rounding the corner out of sight.
Relief surged through Sophie as she clutched her map tightly, her eyes gazing down the now empty corridor. Her mind replayed her first brush with Chase, a feeling of warmth surging through her body and pooling in her belly.
BRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAPPPPP!!!!!!
A massive fart exploded from her as her body relaxed its guard on keeping this beast contained with the sound echoing off the lockers. Her voluptuous curves jiggled and her skirt fluttered upwards with the force, exposing the expanse of her thick things. Sophie’s face melted into one of euphoria, the tension of having had to contain herself all morning dissolving into a blissful rush. A thick sulphur and cheese stench cloaked the corridor, rich and potent. Sophie’s eyes widened as the stink entered her nose. For a moment she stood still frantically fanning the air behind her bum, savoring the release until panic jolted her and she quickly fled from the scene towards the sanctuary of the classroom.
Chase froze mid step as the unfamiliar sound reverberated through the hallways. “Was that her?” He muttered, his brow furrowing with curiosity. His bag slung over his shoulder as he retraced his steps. He peered around the corner and caught a fleeting glimpse of Sophie vanishing into her classroom, her hand waving frantically behind her swaying hips. A wave of realisation crashed over him as his pulse quickened.
The towering jock, now with a curious intent, rushed over to where they had spoken just moments a go. As he approached the spot, Chase was suddenly enveloped by an acrid and sulphuric like stink. Every fibre of his being told him this was a disgustingly foul odour but he found it strangely intoxicating. He shot a look over his shoulder, scanning the corridor for any other explanation as to the source of the stink but the area was empty. ‘Oh wow, she did fart” He thought to himself. His nostrils flared as they took in a fresh batch of the eggy stench, having deduced the curvy new girl was responsible. His grin widened, a hungry glint in his eyes as the potent scent wrapped around him, drawing him. There was no mistake, Sophie’s scent was special.
***
Sophie had to admit that she felt a lot better having finally let some of her pent-up gas escape. The release in the corridor offering a fleeting sense of relief that eased the tight knot in her stomach. She settled into her desk in the brightly lit classroom, the faint hum of the overhead projector buzzing in the background. Her new teacher, Mr. Bronson, a tall, bespectacled man with a neatly trimmed beard and a slightly nervous smile introduced himself with a hesitant stutter, his hands gesturing awkwardly. Her mind, however, was elsewhere, drifting from the monotonous drone of his voice.
As the lesson began, Mr. Bronson launched into a dry lecture on the Civil War, his voice cracking occasionally as he scribbled dates and key figures on the whiteboard, the pen squeaking with every movement. The room filled with the rustle of turning pages and the occasional cough. Sophie’s classmates scribbled notes, their pens scratching against paper in a rhythm that grated on her nerves. He handed out a thick packet of worksheets, urging the class to analyze the lasting impact of the war. Sophie’s eyes glazed over, her pencil hovering uselessly above the page. The fluorescent lights buzzed overhead, casting harsh shadows over her page. The clock ticked agonizingly slow, each second amplifying her awareness of the faint sulfurous whiff still clinging to her skirt, a reminder of her secret she feared might betray her at any moment.
She stared down at her open textbook, its pages dog-eared and marked with colorful sticky notes, a testament to her usual habit of always having her nose buried in a book and preparing all summer for the start of the new year. Studying was her shield against the judgement of the world. This time, the words seemed to scramble into an incomprehensible blur, the black ink swimming as her thoughts spiraled. While lost in a haze of distraction, her mind drifted back to her last school, a place of shadowed hallways and whispered cruelty. She replayed the torment of farting in that crowded gym class, the memory still raw, her curves jiggling as a loud and bubbly fart had escaped her. Her classmates, if you could call them mates, moaned, plugging their noses and giving her a wide berth as the awful stench wafted around the hall. The news quickly spread that Sophie had stunk out the entire gym hall and her fate was sealed. The cruel nicknames begun “Stink Queen!”and “Skunk girl!”, echoing in her ears, each walk through the school only reminding her about her place in the social hierarchy. Nobody wanted to be friends with the girl that was always farting, even if they wanted to. The smell was so potent that you’d need to keep ducking outside for fresh air. She had been so grateful for the empty corridor here, thinking no one had noticed, but the shame of her condition weighed heavily on her shoulders.
Sophie’s farts were far from normal. They were extraordinary, a burden of her incredibly gassy nature. Everything she ate; whether it was the greasy school cafeteria pizza, the spicy burritos from lunch, or even a simple apple seemed to transform inside her into the most vile concoction of smells imaginable, a pungent alchemy that defied explanation. She had no known allergies to her knowledge, no medical excuse to offer, but it didn’t matter. With unsettling ease, she could replicate the stench of a sewer on a sweltering summer’s day, a noxious blend of rotting garbage, sulfurous eggs and a sharp, acrid bite that clung to the air like a toxic fog. Once, she was able to get away with silent farts but now that her body had matured, the silent gas gave way to thunderously bass heavy and bubbly farts.
Her stomach played games of its own. A restless churn that refused to settle as Sophie tried to focus her mind on the task at hand. The gurgling within her was a quiet rebellion, a low rumble that threatened to erupt. She prayed silently that it did not decide to imitate the deep, resonant call of a whale while the room was so hushed, the only other sounds the faint scratch of pens and the occasional cough. Sophie shifted in her seat, the standard-sized chair creaking beneath her weight, looking as though it were struggling to contain the generous expanse of her impressive rear end. Her bum took up all the available room it could muster, spilling slightly over the edges in a way that anyone sitting behind her could readily see. The taut fabric of her skirt stretched audibly with each movement.
She gazed around the class, her tired eyes darting nervously from face to face, taking in the other girls there; slim and petite, their figures clad in fitted blouses and trendy leggings that hugged their toned legs. Nobody seemed to possess an oversized bum or a flabby tummy. Their smooth silhouettes a stark contrast to her own curves. The beauty standard of this school, with its parade of athletic, stylish female bodies was clear to see. Cheerleaders with sleek hairstyles and girls in designer jackets. It only succeeded in reinforcing Sophie’s self-consciousness. The polished perfection juxtaposed against the slightly rumpled shirt and v-neck jumper she wore. Her broad slavic nose flushed red with embarrassment as she tugged at the hem of her jumper, wishing she could shrink into the chair.
As much as she would have secretly longed to share all her classes with Chase, his absence from this one brought Sophie a great relief especially as her stomach now unceremoniously introduced itself to the class with a more audible gurgle. A deep rumble that echoed faintly in the stillness, gas swirling chaotically inside her gut like a storm brewing. A guy in the next row, a small framed boy with dark hair and a curious frown, glanced over, his eyes narrowing as he silently questioned who harbored such a noisy stomach. Sophie ducked her head, her blonde ponytail falling forward to curtain her flushed face, determined to ignore the treacherous activity bubbling in her bowels.
Luckily for Sophie, years of conditioning, painstakingly honed through countless humiliating moments had granted her a fragile semblance of control over her unruly digestive system and she managed to navigate the lesson without unleashing a thunderous rip. The students of that history class, absorbed in their notes and Mr. Bronson’s droning lecture, remained blissfully unaware of how perilously close they had come to witnessing one of Sophie’s infamous farts confined within the classroom’s four walls. The bell finally rang, a sharp clang that jolted her from her focus, and the class trooped out into the corridor. Sophie’s nose twitched as she picked up a familiar, lingering scent. The faint, ghostly remnants of her earlier corridor fart, now reduced to a shadow of its former sulfurous glory. A whisper of rotten eggs and cheese hung in the air and she noticed a few puzzled students sniffing tentatively as they tried to decipher the smell.
The curvy student paused at her locker as she shoved her heavy textbooks inside, when a sudden, treacherous surge rippled through her bowels. A hot, insistent wave that threatened to breach her defenses. Sophie clenched her butt cheeks together with all her might to force the surge of gas back from the gates. She sighed shakily at how perilously close she had come to letting it loose in the populated corridor and with a hurried glance over her shoulder, she scurried off toward the bathroom, her heart pounding, desperate to release the mounting pressure.
Sophie’s heart hammered as she bolted down the hall, her thick thighs straining against her skirt, the sudden surge in her bowels a relentless beat urging her toward the bathroom. She burst through the door, the cool tile floor echoing her hurried footsteps. Luckily, the bathroom seemed empty and she darted into the nearest stall, sliding the lock closed with a shaky hand. The pressure was unbearable now, a hot, churning wave that demanded release, and she barely had time to brace herself against the wall before it erupted.
BRRRRAAAAAPPP!!!
FRRRPPTTTTT!!!
BRRPOPOPOPOPOSSHHFFFFFFF!!!
Two thunderous blasts tore out from her behind, the sound reverberating off the fragile frame of the cubicle, before out rippled eight seconds of a deep, wet and bubbly fart that caused Sophie’s eyes to roll with the sheer relief of letting out such a destructive fart. If it were possible then a swirling green fog would have billowed from her rear. Her signature potent sulfur and cheese stench laced with hints of rotting garbage and acrid eggs filling the confined space like a toxic cloud.
Outside the stall, two girls, one with sleek brunette hair in a high ponytail, the other with fiery red curls had just unfortunately entered into the aftermath of Sophie’s toxic release. They froze mid-conversation, their noses filling with the rotten stench that had quickly wafted through the bathroom. “Oh my God, what is that?!” the brunette gasped, her nose wrinkling sharply as she waved a hand in front of her face, her manicured nails glinting under the lights. The redhead gagged, stumbling back with a choked, “It stinks!” as tears welled in her green eyes, both retreating toward the door with hands clamped over their noses.
Sophie’s own nose wrinkled as the smell hit her too, a noxious blend she knew all too well. Yet, amidst the shame that burned her cheeks, a faint smirk tugged at her thin lips, a flicker of relief. No matter how much Sophie tried to hold back, she had to fart. That was the nature of her biology and it felt so good when she did. She adjusted her rumpled sweater vest and took a steadying breath. “I better get out of here before I succumb to that one” she thought to herself as she pushed open the fragile stall door and made her way to the exit.
A bright and fresh September day greeted Sophie as she stepped outside. The crisp morning air a stark contrast to the biohazard she had unleashed in the girls’ bathroom moments ago. Her next class was in a different building across the grass. She reached into her worn-out bag, her fingers fumbling for her trusted, crumpled map
“Lost again? New girl!” called a familiar and unwanted voice, sharp and mocking.
Sophie looked up, her eyes narrowing, to see Tyler and Jake lounging at a picnic bench on the grass, their frames sprawled carelessly. Tyler, with his dark, tousled hair, grinned smugly, while Jake, broader and smirking, nudged him. Not sure how to react, Sophie’s hands trembled as she continued to fumble in her bag, the weight of their gaze pressing down on her. Before they could close the distance, a shadow fell across her path.
“Take it easy guys” the voice steady but firm.
Tyler and Jake exchanged a glance, snickering as they retreated, leaving a faint echo of their laughter. Chase turned to Sophie, his eyes meeting hers for a moment longer than necessary.
“Wanna hand?” he offered, nodding at her map.
Flustered, she nodded and they walked side by side, the grass crunching underfoot, her curvy silhouette next to his athletic frame painting an unusual sight. A smile spread across her face, not expecting to be walking side by side with the school heartthrob but she kept her gaze fixed on the path, unsure how to fill the silence.
Chase broke the silence, his voice smooth and casual.
“First week’s always a maze, huh? Took me a month to figure out this place.” He nodded toward the distant building, its red brick facade glowing in the sunlight and gestured toward a shortcut through a cluster of oak trees.
Sophie met his gaze with a small, confident smile, her lips curving naturally. “Yeah, I was starting to think I’d need a compass,” she replied.
Chase laughed at her joke and Sophie subconsciously found herself laughing too. He glanced at her, his eyes lingering with a subtle curiosity that Sophie didn’t fully register. “You’re in Bronson’s class, right?” he asked, his tone warm but tinged with something she couldn’t place.
Sophie nodded, adjusting her bag with a casual tilt of her head “Yep, are his lectures always that dry?” she said with a wry chuckle.
“I remember them usually being quite dull” replied Chase with a chuckle.
The shade of the oaks cooled her face, offering a little release from the tension between them.
“What do you have next?” he asked, bringing Sophie back from her trance.
“Oh, Geography” she replied.
Chase paused, a faint smile tugging at his lips as he pulled a crumpled schedule from his jacket pocket. “No way, me too. Looks like we’re stuck together for the next hour,” he said, his gaze meeting hers with a spark of amusement.
Sophie’s confidence wavered for a moment, her heart giving a small leap, but she recovered with a nod and a brighter smile. “Guess I’ve got a guide then,” she quipped, the shade of the oaks cooling her face as they neared the building’s entrance, the prospect of class now tinged with unexpected anticipation.
Sophie tried not to trip on her way into the classroom. She hadn’t expected him of all people, the infamous Chase Donovan to walk her there, his sudden offer after their outdoor encounter still buzzing in her mind. Now, she was painfully aware of every student’s gaze boring into her, their whispers rippling through the room like a wave as Chase strode in behind her.
“Okay, class, settle down and take your seats,” came the chirpy yet slightly nasal voice of their Geography teacher, Mr. Porter, a short, rotund man with circular glasses balanced precariously at the end of his nose. The lenses magnified his bright, inquisitive eyes. He adjusted his ill-fitting tweed jacket, the buttons straining slightly and clapped his hands to hush the chatter. Sophie watched as Chase made his way to the back of the class, fist bumping Tyler as he took a seat next to him. She quickly spied an empty desk at the front, its surface scratched and ink-stained and took her place. She managed to squeeze through the narrow gap between it and the next without her ample bum knocking over a pencil case or the stack of textbooks teetering on the edge.
Mr. Porter turned to the whiteboard, his marker squeaking as he began scrawling in bold, uneven letters. “We’re starting the semester with a partner project,” he announced, the class buzzing with excitement as friends exchanged eager glances across the room, their voices a low hum of anticipation. “Each pair will choose a local issue, perhaps something like urban expansion, deforestation, transportation or community planning. You need to research how geography influences it,” he continued, tapping the board with his marker for emphasis. Chase immediately turned to Tyler beside him, nodding to solidify their deal, his low murmur of agreement barely audible. Mr. Porter’s gaze sharpened, his glasses slipping slightly as he interjected, “Mr. Donovan, based on last year’s performance, I’m going to pair you with our new star student. I think you could learn something from her.” His finger pointed directly at Sophie and her heart skipped a beat, a jolt of embarrassment surging through her as the class’s attention swiveled to her once more, her lips parted in a silent gasp. Brittany, perched near the front, shot Sophie a venomous glare, her hazel eyes narrowing as if daring Sophie to step out of line.
Sophie’s stomach dropped. Of course. Out of everyone in the room, she had to get paired with him.
A ripple of murmurs spread through the class along with a few poorly muffled snickers. Tyler leaned back in his chair, grinning at Chase. “Guess you’re babysitting the new girl, bro.”
Mr. Porter shot him a warning glare. “That’ll be enough, Mr. Green.”
Chase’s easy smile faltered and for a heartbeat, Sophie thought she saw something flash in his eyes, annoyance, maybe or discomfort. Then he gave a small shrug and stood, his chair scraping against the floor.
Sophie froze. Every step he took seemed louder than it should’ve been.
He dropped into the empty seat beside her, the faint smell of aftershave reaching her as he leaned back casually. “Hey,” he said, his voice low enough that only she could hear. “I swear I didn’t plan this.”
Sophie forced a smile. “Right. Because the universe just really wants to mess with me.”
He chuckled, surprised. “You’re funny.”
“I’m serious,” she said, but the corner of her mouth betrayed her.
Mr. Porter clapped his hands again. “Now, before you all get too excited, this is not a quick project. You’ll be researching and creating a presentation. You’ll have three weeks.”
Groans filled the air. Sophie, meanwhile, felt her mind whirl.
“Start brainstorming,” Mr. Porter said. “Think of something that connects to your community. I’ll be coming around.”
Sophie opened her notebook, scribbling a heading:
Geography Project – Ideas
Chase leaned over, his arm brushing hers. “So, what are we thinking?”
She blinked. “We? You actually want to help?”
He smirked. “Well, I’d rather not fail again. Porter already hates me.”
They worked quietly for a while, tossing ideas back and forth, their conversation easy in a way that caught Sophie off guard. Every so often, she’d look up to find him watching her. Not in the mocking way she’d expected, but with an almost curious expression, like he was trying to figure her out.
When the bell finally rang, she gathered her things quickly. “Thanks,” she said, voice soft.
“For what?”
“For… not being what I expected.”
He tilted his head, considering that. “Yeah, well,” he said after a moment, “you’re not exactly what I expected either.”

The cafeteria buzzed with noise and motion. Sophie sat near the back, trying to convince herself not to glance toward the football table. She failed.
Her blue eyes darted involuntarily, landing on Chase like a magnet, his bold jacket a beacon in the sea of students, his wavy brown hair catching the light as he tossed his head back in amusement. Then Tyler leaned in and said something that made the others roar with laughter, their voices slicing through the din. Sophie swallowed the knot in her throat and headed to an empty table by the wall. The chair squeaked as she sat, alone but invisible. That was fine. She preferred invisible.
She stared down at her plate, a modest mound of mac and cheese sitting beside a pair of chicken tenders, the cafeteria's half-hearted attempt at comfort food. It actually didn’t look too bad, the cheese slightly congealed from sitting too long under the heat lamp, its golden surface glistening with a greasy sheen that promised indulgence but warned of consequences. Sophie ate quickly, her fork scraping the plate with a rhythmic clink that blended into the background clamor, knowing all too well the treacherous effects a cheesy dish like this could have on her notoriously gassy gut. Years of school torment from letting farts go at lunch flooded back to her, she recalled with a wry twist how her farts had sometimes cleared a queue for the last slice of pizza, an unintended silver lining in her cloud of shame. Her hand pressed against her stomach as she took her last mouthful and she leant back in her chair after defeating her lunch time meal. The pressure was building again, a low rumble that made her shift uncomfortably, her thick thighs pressing together in a vain attempt to contain it. Her heart pounded as she glanced once more at Chase, who was engaged in what seemed like a deep conversation.
Sophie gathered her things and made her way to the library, her fortress of solitude. She slipped into the hushed sanctuary of bookshelves and wooden tables, the air cool and musty with the scent of old pages. She found a secluded area where she could study alone, hoping to get a head start before her next class. Unpacking her notebook, her stomach churned louder, the mac and cheese exacting its revenge. She leaned over her notes and the sudden change in posture allowed her excess gas to escape.
PPPRRRRRRPPTTTT!!!
A sudden and muffled fart rippled out from under her tightly stretched skirt. The warm, smelly air quickly wafted up to greet her nose and she could smell the extra cheesy nature of this fart. It was a truly potent brand filling the secluded area with a lingering haze. A worried expression spread across her face as she quickly scanned the immediate area to see if anyone had noticed. She sat back in relief, realising she seemed to be alone as she casually fanned the air around with her textbook, dispersing the toxic cloud.
“I thought I saw you heading to the library” said a familiar voice
Sophie, startled, dropped her textbook and saw Chase striding towards her stinky area of the library. “No, no, no” Sophie thought to herself, panic setting in.
Chase stood there, a sports bag slung over one shoulder and his wavy brown hair falling into his eyes. His nostrils flared slightly, unnoticed by Sophie, as the lingering sulfur-cheese whiff from her library fart wafted toward him, the scent wrapping around him.
“Hey” he said, his voice casual, a faint smile tugging at his chiseled jaw.
“Was looking for you. About the project—Bronson wants outlines by Thursday, figured we should brainstorm at some point?”
Sophie froze, her lips parting in surprise, her hand instinctively pressing against her stomach as if to contain any lingering rumbles. The air between them felt heavy, the faint cheesy haze still detectable and her heart pounded with worry. Does he smell it? Is that why he’s here, to mock me? She forced a weak smile, her eyes darting away, the flush creeping up her cheeks as she shifted her weight. “Uh, yeah, sure,” she stammered, her voice steadier than she felt. “I started some research in there. We could do it this week?” Her mind raced, fearing the worst but Chase didn’t flinch, his eyes meeting hers with an unreadable glint, he nodded.
“Sounds good” he replied, his tone even, though his nostrils flared again subtly, inhaling the potent whiff that clung to her. He didn’t comment, didn’t wrinkle his nose, just casually standing there.
“Thursday afternoon? I have football and gym every other day” he added with a quiet confidence that left her breathless.
Sophie nodded quickly, her relief mixing with a gnawing anxiety. “He must have smelled it, right? Why isn’t he saying anything?” she thought as she watched Chase stride away, the thud of the closing door signaling her tension to release.
PFFFTTT!!!
A bubbly three-second release of toxic, eggy fumes rumbled against the padded library chair, the stink swirling around her, intensifying the sulfurous cloud. A boy entering nearby wrinkled his nose, muttering, “Ugh, gross,” his face contorting as he processed the curvy senior’s stench, but Sophie didn’t care. She had a date with Chase. Well, not quite a date but it was the closest she had ever been to one and that flicker of hope drowned out the shame, for now.
***
As far as first days in a new school went, Sophie couldn’t have been happier to leave it behind. The weight of judgmental stares and the stifling pressure in her gut had lifted the moment she stepped off the bus, the cool evening air brushing against her flushed cheeks as she trudged up the driveway to her house. Kicking off her shoes in the hallway, she fired off a quick text to her best friend, Mia, her fingers trembling with excitement as she climbed the stairs to her bedroom. “You’ll never guess what happened,” she typed, her voice a silent cheer in her head as she stripped off her sweater vest and skirt, eager to swap her daytime clothes for the comforting embrace of her lounge wear. Standing in her mismatched bra and panties, she wrestled with her yoga pants. The tight lycra fabric resisting as she bounced up and down. Her behemoth-sized rear end jiggled with each hop as the stretchy material strained to contain her ample curves.
Flopping onto her bed with a dramatic thud as the mattress creaked under her weight, Sophie rolled onto her stomach. She propped herself up on her elbows to type eagerly to Mia. The relief of being home washed over her, a stark contrast to the day’s tension when all of a sudden, an uncontrollable force erupted from below.
BBBBBRRRRPPTTTTSSSHHHHFFFFFF!!!
A mammoth eight-second-long ripper of a fart exploded out from the confines of Sophie’s fleshy cheeks, the tight yoga pants rippling with the power of her gaseous outburst. The sound reverberated off the walls, a deep, rumbling symphony that filled the room with a rotten stench. A pungent blend of sulfur, decayed eggs, and the lingering ghost of that cafeteria mac and cheese. She sighed in relief as the pressure in her stomach subsided. The pain of holding most of her gas throughout the day now dissolving into a blissful release, though the toxic cloud now dominated her sanctuary. Her evenings at home were a ritual of these unrestrained releases, a freedom she savored away from the embarrassment of her classmates.
“I met the hottest guy AND I’m partnered with him for group work, we are going to meet after class!” she continued her message to Mia, her fingers flying across the screen, the rotten smell filling her nostrils as she grinned, unashamed in her private haven. The thought of Chase with his wavy brown hair, that athletic build and the way his eyes had met hers in the library sent a flutter through her chest, a feeling she couldn’t quite name.
“Honestly Mia, he’s gorgeous and I felt something different about him,” she added, her heart racing as she hit send, the cheesy haze swirling around her like an imaginary friend. A moment later, her phone buzzed with Mia’s reply: “Ahhh, I’m glad you’re settling in! You’ll have to let me know how it goes.” Sophie smiled, the warmth of her friend’s support easing the day’s lingering anxiety, though the stench in her room grew thicker.
Downstairs, the familiar clatter of pots signaled dinner prep. Sophie rolled off the bed, her yoga pants clinging to her thick thighs, and went to her window, cracking it open to let the evening breeze dilute the funk.
The bellowing call from her father that dinner was ready pulled Sophie from her dreamy state. She padded down the creaky stairs, her yoga pants hugging her curvy frame and the tight lycra still warm from her recent farts. Her family gathered around the worn oak table, Dad at the head, Mom bustling with a serving dish and her brother Liam slouched. Sophie slid into her chair and dished out herself a healthy portion. Her stomach gurgled softly in anticipation of the meal as she dived in.
“First day go okay, Soph?” Dad asked, his voice gruff but warm as he passed the gravy boat, his graying hair catching the light.
She nodded, spooning potatoes onto her plate. “Yeah, mostly. Got a project partner, Chase Donovan. He’s on the football team.”
Mom raised an eyebrow, setting down a basket of rolls. “A jock, huh? Watch yourself with those types.”
Sophie forced a smile, her mind flashing to Brittany’s venomous glare in class, the jealousy simmering beneath the brunette’s perfect facade. “He seemed nice,” she mumbled, taking a bite, the rich flavors melting on her tongue.
Liam snickered, kicking her chair with a jeer, “Sophie’s in love!” His teenage voice cracked with mischief, drawing a groan from her. She rolled her eyes, but the pressure in her gut tightened, the chicken and potatoes stoking her gassy furnace into a slow burn. She shifted uncomfortably, her thighs pressing together in a vain attempt to contain it as she tried to focus on her meal. Halfway through, a low rumble betrayed her.
PFFFTTT!!!
The warm air slipped out beneath her chair, carrying a mild sulfurous whiff with a hint of dinner. The stench drifted upward, subtle but unmistakable, curling into the family’s senses.
Liam gagged theatrically, fanning his face with both hands. “Gross, Soph! Open a window!”
Her mum sighed, rising to wave a napkin in a futile attempt to disperse the stink of her daughter’s fart, her nose wrinkling.
“Sorry!” Sophie offered, her cheeks flushing, though the household was no stranger to her awful releases. She tried her best to confine them to her bedroom and bathroom but sometimes, especially after a day of restraint, they slipped out, a testament to her body’s relentless nature.
“Phew!” exclaimed her mum, stepping up to crack open the kitchen window, the cool evening breeze seeping in. “I hope you didn’t let those out in class,” she added, sitting back down and fanning her nose with a playful frown.
“You know, I try not to, Mom,” answered Sophie, taking another mouthful.
Liam pulled his shirt over his nose, his voice muffled. “Try harder!”
Dad looked at her sternly, his brow furrowing in mock disgust. “Try to keep them in at the table, Sophie. Nobody wants to smell them.” His tone was firm, but the twinkle in his eye softened the reprimand.
Sophie’s home life was a stark contrast to her public world. At school, she fought to contain every gurgle, haunted by jeers of “Stink Queen”. Her every move scrutinized. Here, surrounded by her family’s teasing acceptance, she felt comfortable, the freedom to let one go a rare luxury. She finished her plate, the fullness in her belly now a ticking time bomb and excused herself, the clatter of dishes fading as she wandered into the living room.
She flopped onto the sagging couch and grabbed the remote, the TV flickering with some mindless reality show. The pressure built again, and as she shifted to get comfortable a proud fart made its way out.
BRRRRAAAAAPPP!!!
A loud, deep fart erupted from the confines of her flesh, the sound bouncing off the walls as thick fog of a rotten meaty stench billowed out.
She giggled, the relief washing over her, but Liam, sprawled on the floor, bolted upright, coughing. “Seriously, Soph? You Stink!” He scrambled to the kitchen, holding his nose as Sophie reclined in her smelly victory.
She meandered to her bedroom not wanting to completely stink out her family. Sitting at her desk, she pulled out project notes, the faint gurgle returning. Leaning to one side to let rip another powerful post dinner fart.
PPPRRRRRRPPTTTT!!!
A five second long bass heavy trumpet forced its way out, a stinky release that quickly filled the room. Sophie giggled to herself as she wafted her hand around by her ass, fanning the smell. Her bedroom was like a smelly paradise, the only place where she could truly let rip without somebody suffering from the stink.
Bbbbbbbbppopppssssffffhhhhhhhhhh!!!!
A rippling, wet mess of a fart, muffled against the fabric of her desk chair s The stench it carried suggest she was due to take a dump soon. Sophie was on fire now, it would be dangerous for anyone bar herself to be near her Her farts would likely not calm down until much later in the evening.
“Pwoar” Now, thats a stinker” Sophie exclaimed as she got up and cracked open her bedroom window, the smell getting a little too toxic even for her to handle.
PART 2
The school was almost empty, the hum of the vending machines echoed faintly through the halls as Sophie made her way to the second-floor classroom. She pushed open the door with a creak and headed inside. The late afternoon light filtered through the high windows, casting a soft, golden glow across the room. She chose a desk near the center of the room and spread out her notes in neat rows, all color coded and highlighted with meticulous precision.
She sat there ready for thirty minutes, her frayed blonde ponytail swaying as she tapped her pencil nervously. The pressure from lunch, a greasy grilled cheese sandwich gurgled faintly in her gut, but she pushed it down, focusing on the project outline she’d perfected the night before.
The classroom door creaked open, and a rush of cool air followed Chase as he stepped inside, the faint smell of grass and sweat clinging to him from football practice. His grey hoodie with the school crest emblazoned across the chest, was damp at the shoulders, his wavy brown hair slick and tousled. He smiled at her and crossed the room with a casual stride, sliding into the chair with a sigh.
“Sorry,” he said, his voice low and slightly hoarse. “Coach kept us late"
He dropped his backpack with a heavy thud, the sound echoing softly in the quiet. Sophie smiled faintly, her lips curving as she met his gaze.
“Sounds intense.” Her voice was gentle, a contrast to the knot tightening in her chest.
“You have no idea,” he replied, running a hand through his damp hair, a wry grin tugging at his lips. “All right, Professor. What’ve we got?” His teasing tone lightened the air.
Sophie rolled her eyes but couldn’t suppress a soft laugh as she handed him a stack of notes. “I outlined the sections for the report. We just need to divide them.”
He skimmed the pages, his eyebrows raising in surprise. “You did all this already?”
“Yeah,” she said, half-shrugging,. “I like being prepared.”
“I like people who make me look like I’m doing work,” he said, grinning wider, his teeth flashing briefly.
Her laugh echoed softly between them, drawing a flicker of warmth to her cheeks.
They worked quietly for a while, the only sounds the soft scratch of pens and the occasional flip of a page, the project taking shape. Every so often, she glanced up, catching him absorbed in the text, relaxed yet attentive. For some reason, that made her chest tighten. A mix of admiration and something deeper.
After a stretch of silence, she noticed him staring at the same paragraph, his pen idle, eyes distant. “You okay?” she asked gently, her voice breaking.
Chase blinked, then sighed, leaning back in his chair. “Yeah. Just… tired, I guess.” He rubbed the back of his neck, his eyes dropping to the table.
“Tired?” she prompted, tilting her head, her curiosity piqued.
He gave a half-smile, the weight of his words settling. “Football, classes, my dad breathing down my neck about scholarships. He was a big deal back in the day. A quarterback at State, led the team to a championship. Now he expects me to do the same, or better. Practices are brutal, two hours after school, plus weight training and scouts are always watching. If I don’t get into State, it’s like I’ve failed the whole family legacy.”
He paused, his voice lowering. “And studying? I love it, history, geography, figuring out how things connect but I barely have time. Dad thinks it’s a waste if it’s not football-related. Sometimes it feels like everyone’s waiting for me to screw up, and I have to keep smiling through it.”
Sophie hesitated, her pen hovering over the page, the echo of his words resonating with her own struggles. “That sounds… exhausting,” she said softly, her empathy surfacing. “I get it, pressure to be someone you’re not. For me, it’s proving I’m more than the quiet nerd.”
He looked at her then, his gaze steady, a rare vulnerability in his eyes. “They’re idiots if they don’t see more than that in you.” The compliment hung between them, stirring a flutter low in her stomach. She ducked her head, pretending to adjust her notes as she felt her cheeks warming.
Their hands brushed as they reached for the same sheet, the contact electric. Neither moved at first, the air shifting with unspoken tension. Her breath catching as his fingers lingered a moment longer than necessary. Then his phone buzzed, shattering the moment, The screen lit up and Chase quickly flipped it facedown, his jaw tightening.
“Everything okay?” she asked, her voice gentle, sensing the shift.
“Yeah,” he said, forcing a grin, though it didn’t reach his eyes. “Just… Tyler being Tyler. He leaned back, stretching, the hoodie riding up to reveal a sliver of his toned abs. “Speaking of which, there’s a party at Tyler’s this weekend. You should come”
Sophie’s heart skipped, the invitation catching her off guard. She thought of Brittany’s judging glare, but the allure of being with Chase outweighed the doubt. “A party?” she echoed, her voice steady but her mind racing. “I’m not really… I don’t know.”
“Come on,” he urged, his grin returning, boyish and warm. “It’ll be low-key. Just us and some friends. You can’t study all weekend” His gaze lingered.
They packed up, the classroom’s silence settling around them. As Chase slung his backpack over his shoulder, he turned with a smile.
“So, see you Saturday?”
Sophie nodded, her heart pounding. “Okay, I’ll try.” He waved and headed out, the door clicking shut behind him.
Alone, she exhaled, the faint gurgle in her belly a quiet reminder of her digestive system churning away. She texted Mia: “Studied with Chase and he invited me to a party tomorrow!” Mia’s reply buzzed back: “Exciting!” Sophie smiled, the weekend now looming with promise.
***
The first week of senior year had raced by in a chaotic flurry, and now Sophie was holed up in her bedroom as Tyler’s party loomed ahead. She assumed it’d be a casual affair, her laid-back approach to fashion left her scrambling. Standing before her full-length mirror, she tugged at her snug blue jeans, the denim stretching taut over her thick thighs and ample bum as she sucked in her breath to force the button closed. Her room was a jumble. Piles of rejected clothes strewn across the floor from her pre-party “fit” check, bookshelves sagging with rows of literature and posters on the walls curling at the edges.
Mia perched on the edge of the unmade bed, legs crossed as she watched with a warm smile.
“Those jeans are giving you a workout, Soph,” Mia said, her voice gentle and encouraging.
“Tell me about it” replied Sophie, rolling her eyes
“Although I’d kill for an ass as fat as yours!” Teased Mia, impressed by her friends generous rump.
Sophie scoffed unsure if her rear end was a blessing or a curse. She finally snapped the button into place with a relieved huff, though the pressure in her belly shifted uneasily. “Thanks, Mia”
“You’re looking great!” She beamed as she leaned forward slightly.
Sophie flashed a grateful grin as she turned to face her although the sudden movement triggered her gut to expel some of its potent air.
BBBBRRRRAAAAAPPPPP!!!
A somewhat short but no less toxic fart ripped out from Sophie’s ass, tainting the freshly washed jeans with her trademark stink.
“Ugh, PU!” Moaned Mia, her nose wrinkling in disgust as the smell of her friends fermented taco lunch wafted towards her.
“Sorry Mia, I had tacos for lunch” said Sophie as if to defend the rotten smell.
“Well, try not to let one of those go at the party, if anything let out your gas now” said Mia as she casually waved her hand in front of her face, hoping to disperse some of the stink.
“You sure?” Asked Sophie
“Yeah, what are friends for?” Replied Mia unsure if she was going to regret her decision.
Sophie shrugged before scrunching up her face, her gut ready to empty out some of the built up pressure from within.
BBRRPPTT!!!
FRRRAAARRPPPTTTTT!!!
BBRROOPPPSSHF!!!
Three, powerful farts fired out from the confines of the curvy girls ass, further tarnishing the denim with her toxic brand of gas. Mia was fairly sure she could see her friends ass cheeks rippled as she let out her latest batch of potent farts.
“Phew!, all done” sighed Sophie as she nervously fanned the air around her ass, in an attempt to not let the smell bind to her rear end.
“Pheweeee!” Mia exclaimed, her nose scrunching in disgust as the rancid stench of Sophie’s rank farts assaulted her senses. Even accustomed to her friend’s gas, she gagged slightly, fanning the air with both hands. “I love you, but ugh, that’s brutal” Her voice wavered, her usual support strained by the stench as she pulled her top over her nose.
Sophie chuckled, a touch defensive but relaxed. “Sorry, Mia, you said I could!”
“I know and I am regretting that now” she moaned “Damn that’s next-level nasty!” Her tone was half joking but firm as she opened up the window and gulped in fresh air.
“Maybe that was a bit of a stinker” Sophie giggled as she took another look in the mirror and gazed at her giant ass.
Sophie had almost turned back twice. The bass from Tyler’s house thudded through the quiet suburban air as she stood across the street. Her stomach had gurgled with each step like a ticking time bomb, the nerves surging though her gut. She took a deep breath and walked up the driveway, her tight denim hugging her thick thighs and mammoth rear end as it bounced from side to side.
She made her way up the steps and before she even had time to ring the doorbell, the front door had swung open and out stumbled a couple of guys who had clearly already had a lot to drink. They brushed passed Sophie, the smell of cheap beer hitting her in the face and she stepped inside to her first ever party.
The house was chaos. The music loud enough to rattle the walls and she could feel her sneakers stick to the floor. There were clusters of people crowded throughout the open plan living room and kitchen area. She recognised faces from the hallways. Cheerleaders, football players, the effortlessly cool kids. People that had not noticed her before.
It was then that she saw him. Chase stood near the kitchen doorway, surrounded by his mates, laughing with his arm draped around Tyler. His hair was messy and tousled forward like he just got out the shower. He wore a fitted t shirt that clung to his shoulders and looked like the center of gravity for the room.
He spotted her, for a moment his grin faltered, surprise flickering in his eyes before it softened. He nudged Tyler, saying something that she couldn’t hear and started making his way towards her.
“Sophie!” He called over the music ‘You came”
“Yeah” she said, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, hoping to not look as nervous as she felt although her stomach still gurgled ominously. “You said it’d be low-key”
Chase laughed, rubbing the back of his neck. “This is low-key, well by Tyler’s standards it is!”
Before she could respond, a stern voice cut through the noise.
“Chase!” Called Brittany. Perfect hair, perfect crop top and perfect body. She latched onto his arm, eyes darting to Sophie.
“Oh, the study buddy is here” Brittany’s tone was sharp.
If it were not for the pulsating music thumping through the air then the awkwardness would have been deathly silent. The standoff was cut short however, with the arrival of Jake, stumbling in to the group.
“Yo guys, Tyler is getting the shots out!” He exclaimed, his words slightly slurred.
The tension was broken immediately and Sophie managed to catch Chase’s eye, feeling her face redden but he only offered an expression as if to say ‘Not my fault’. They all followed Jake into the kitchen to see Tyler stood behind the counter with a line of tequila shots glinting under the dim overhead lights. Chase rolled his eyes, knowing that no party was complete without Tyler forcing shots on everybody at least once. He took two from the counter, handing one to Sophie who smiled up at him.
“3, 2 1!” Yelled an excited Tyler as everybody cheered and took down their hastily poured shot. Faces contorted in disgust as the sharp taste of cheap alcohol made its way down their throats.
“C’mon, Soph” said Chase as he slammed his empty glass on the table and led her away from the chaos of the kitchen.
Music thumped through the walls, a relentless beat vibrating in Sophie’s chest as she navigated the crowded living room, trying to squeeze past groups of people. Eventually they made their way to a closed door which Chase pushed open and led Sophie inside.
The den was a cozy retreat. Dimly lit with a sagging couch, a worn rug and a coffee table cluttered with energy drink cans and magazines. The walls were decorated with photos of Chase, Tyler and Jake through their years on the school football team together. It looked like they had been friends for a long time, their chemistry was undeniable. Chase flopped onto the couch with Sophie taking a seat next to him.
“You’re quite the team” said Sophie, breaking the silence as she nodded towards the photos on the wall.
“Yeah, I guess we are. Won it all last year so need to do it all again this season” he replied confidently.
“No pressure then” laughed Sophie, feeling more confident now that they were away from the chaos of the party.
Chase gave a half-shrug, leaning back into the couch. “It’s whats expected”
“You don’t have to be perfect all the time, you know” she replied, feeling that Chase was affected by the pressure.
“Says the girl who color codes her notes” he chucked softly “Thanks for helping me out on that project by the way, not sure I would have even started it without you!” He added.
The door burst open, slamming against the wall.
“Yo! There you are!” Tylers voice rang out, loud and slurred. Jake stumbled in behind him, laughing and Brittany followed, her expression tightening the moment she saw them. Jake flopped onto the couch, tossing a football idly and Brittany settled into the armchair across the room as Tyler busied himself pouring another drink.
“Sorry, I didn’t know we were interrupting a tutoring session man!” He laughed eyeing Chase and Sophie on the couch.
The confidence that had built up within her suddenly drained and she felt her stomach knot as she looked over at Tyler. Her cheeks burned as she forced a small, awkward laugh.
“I should probably be going now” muttered Sophie just loud enough so Chase could hear. She suddenly felt very outcast and could feel the glare of Brittany burning against her back.
Sophie got up, the couch cushions returning to their previous shape now that they no longer supported Sophie’s fat ass.
Chase frowned. “Wait—” he started before Sophie’s hand shot to her stomach, a sudden pain rushing though her.
“Sophie, you okay?’ Asked Chase, a look of concern on his face
“Yeah, I’m-“
FFFFRRRRRTTTTTSSSSPPPPBBBPOPOPOSSHHHHH!!!!!!
Her sentence was cut short by her own noisy rear end. A disastrously wet and bubbly fart deep from her bowels ripped out, straining against the tight denim casing her ass. Sophie had to admit that for the six seconds she was farting, it did feel good. The pressure emptying from within her stomach. However, once the last of her gas had found its way out did it dawn on her that she had just let rip in front of Chase and all of his mates. Initially, the room was filled with a stunned silence before Tyler erupted with laughter, prompting Jake and Chase to follow suit and fall in to a fit of hysterics. Brittany sat, her nose wrinkled in disgust but with a slight smirk of victory. There was no way Chase would continue to like Sophie after that.
Sophie turned crimson as the deep sense of embarrassment and shame spread around her body, she only felt more humiliated as she saw Chase in fits of laughter with his mates.
“Omg Bro! Did she just-” Laughed Tyler who was barely able to control himself before the smell hit. It was absolutely vile. A nauseating blend of rancid chili, festering beans, and a grotesque, sewer-like decay, sharpened by an eggy ammonia sting that scorched the air. The heat was as oppressive as the stench, a humid wave of toxic gas that quickly polluted the space they were in. The laughter died as Tyler’s face twisted.
“Oh God” he groaned, staggering to his feet.
Jake gagged, stumbling back, “That’s gross!”
Brittany too clamped a hand over her nose, the smell now showing its full power. “I gotta get outta here!” She said as she bolted out the room looking as if she was about to retch.
Tyler and Jake close behind, coughing as they fled into the hallway. Chase opened his mouth, still laughing softly, but before he could speak, she hurried towards the door.
“I—I gotta go,” she stammered, her voice cracking and rushed from the den, shoving through the party crowd.
The cool night air slapped her face as she stumbled home. Her sleeves were sodden with the amount of times she had wiped away tears. "I’ve ruined it all” she sobbed to herself as she thought about having to face him on Monday.
Chase sat completely dumfounded on the couch. The stink of Sophie’s fart was heavy in the air but all he could think about was how sexy it was. He looked down at his pants and the bulge he was met with told him all he needed to know.
***
The halls seemed to buzz louder than usual on Monday morning. Lockers slammed, shoes squeaking against the polished floors and laughter echoed through the corridors. Laughter that Sophie was certain was about her. She walked with her head down, clutching her books tight against her chest like a shield against the invisible stares she felt piercing her from every angle. Word had spread like wildfire, thanks to Brittany, who had wasted no time in turning Sophie’s accidental release into the talk of the school. The word of the most popular girl in school and head cheerleader was almost gospel. It was no longer a secret that Sophie had cleared out a room at the party with her rancid fart. She could see it now, as the word got around to everyone, the nicknames and teasing coming back to haunt her. Soon she was going to be known as Stinky Sophie, the girl who farted at the high school party. She had spent the rest of the weekend dreading her return to class, uselessly replaying the moment over and over again in her head. “Why did I have tacos that day?” Was a question she had asked herself repeatedly, a fuel she knew she could have done without that night. The truth was she had been nervous about the party and food, especially her favorite food, was her way of coping. As she hurried past another cluster of girls, their giggles rang in her ears. She felt her cheeks flush red, focused on avoiding the one person that she could not face. Chase. Her gut rumbled softly, her earlier breakfast of scrambled eggs on toast making its presence known to her.
By lunch, Sophie had perfected the art of avoiding him. If she saw him at the end of the hallway, she’d turn and suddenly ‘remember’ she left something in her locker. In classes they shared, she sat as far away as possible, avoiding eye contact, her eyes glued to her notes. When their eyes did meet she had forced herself to look away, her heart thudding, despite his deep look of concern on his face. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to see him, she just could not face the conversation. Not after what happened at the party. She had farted in front of him and not just any fart, it was her notoriously loud, disgusting and rotten fart that cleared out the whole room. How could she face her crush now? The whispers around school only added to her pain although she had dealt with that before but this was new territory for her.
Sophie found a quiet spot at the lunch break. An empty classroom that she could escape the chaos of the rest of the school, a rare oasis. It was peaceful, the blinds gently flapped in the slight draft that blew through the room, a sense of tranquility not often found in the busy school. She sat herself at a desk, her plump rear end taking up its full allocation of space on the strained desk chair. She took out her colour coded notes from her bag, the page dogeared from her session with Chase. That memory seemed like such a long way away now, one that she longed would return.
BBBBRRRRRPTTTTTTTSSSSHHHFFF!!!
The curvy student shattered the peace as a thunderous fart erupted from her. Seven seconds of unrestrained flatulence rolling out with casual defiance. The air thickened instantly with a noxious cloud of pure sulfur, the scrambled eggs from breakfast weaving a sharp, eggy stench into a vile concoction that stung her nostrils. “Phew!” she sighed, wafting a hand in front of her face, the burn almost amusing in its intensity. Rarely did she have the luxury of letting loose so freely in a classroom and she savored the release. She remained there, stewing in her thoughts and the lingering gas, until the bell jolted her back to reality. Sh decided to crack open a window and used her textbook to fan the pungent haze in an effort to spare the next class her ghastly stench.
The next few days continued in much the same fashion and Chase noticed. Of course he did. Every class they shared, every time she turned away as soon as their eyes met. He had replayed the moment over and over in his head but he kept focusing on one moment in particular. The sound, the length, the smell of her fart, it was just so powerful and something he desperately desired more of. He had contemplated countless times about just telling her but he couldn’t just blurt that out and anyway every time he had tried to speak with her, she had avoided him.
“Dude, you’ve been off all week” Tyler said as they jogged off the practice field, sweat glistening under the fading afternoon light.
“Yeah” Jake added, tossing his helmet into his locker.
Chase shrugged “Just tried”
They both knew that was a lie but accepted his reluctance to say any more.
“Well, get it together for the weekend, we have a huge game and I need your throws to be on point” said Tyler with a smile.
Chase exhaled slowly. “I’m fine. Just… need to focus, that’s all.”
Tyler gave a shrug, unbothered. “Good. ‘Cause we need you locked in. Crestview’s defense is no joke, and I’m not about to lose my streak ‘cause the QB’s off in la-la land.”
Chase smirked faintly, trying to lighten it. “Don’t worry. I’ll make sure you get your highlight reel.”
“Damn right you will,” Tyler said with a grin, slamming his locker shut. “Friday night, man. Let’s go remind everyone why we’re the best.”
The door swung closed behind them, leaving Chase alone in the fading light of the locker room. He stared at his reflection in the metal of his locker. The calm, confident quarterback everyone expected him to be as he tried to ignore the image of Sophie farting that kept cutting through instead.
***
The stadium glowed beneath the floodlights, beams slicing through the crisp Friday night air. The smell of popcorn, damp turf, and adrenaline hung over the crowd. The stands were packed with parents, students and teachers, all shouting over the hum of the marching band.
Sophie sat high up, wrapped in a denim jacket. She’d almost stayed home, telling herself it would be easier to just not see him. But when she heard the roar from the field, she found herself walking toward the noise.
Down on the sideline, Chase Donovan adjusted his chin strap, eyes fixed on the field. His pulse hammered in his ears. The scoreboard read 17–14. They were down by three with just under six minutes left. He could feel his dad’s stare from behind the fence, arms folded, stoic as ever. And somewhere in the crowd, he knew Sophie was watching.
“Let’s go, boys,” he muttered, jogging onto the field.
They lined up at the 40.
“Trips right, 62 cross,” he called, voice steady even as the pressure pressed down like weight on his shoulders.
The ball snapped. He dropped back, scanning for Tyler’s route. But the defense blitzed fast. Too fast. The line collapsed.
“Watch left!” Jake shouted but it was too late.
Chase spun, but the defender broke through, wrapping him up and slamming him into the turf. The crowd groaned. Chase hit the grass hard, his breath knocked out of him. Another sack. Another wasted drive.
He slammed his helmet down as the whistle blew, ending the possession. The offense jogged off the field, heads low. Chase dropped onto the bench, chest heaving. “I can’t do this,” he muttered under his breath, staring at the ground. His hands trembled slightly.
Tyler knelt in front of him, still catching his own breath. “Hey,” he said, voice calm but firm. “You’re Chase freakin’ Donovan. The guy who’s been running this field since middle school. You think one bad drive changes that?”
Jake threw his towel at him. “Quit sulking. We’re still in this, man. Defense is holding. We’ll get the ball back.”
Chase rubbed his face. “I keep missing. Reads are late. I’m—”
“You’re overthinking,” Tyler cut in. “Play your game, not your dad’s version of it. You know the field better than anyone. Trust yourself.”
Chase looked up, meeting his best friend’s eyes. Tyler’s expression wasn’t smug, wasn’t angry, it was belief. Quiet and real.
Chase exhaled slowly, nodding. “Okay. Yeah.”
“That’s my quarterback,” Tyler grinned, slapping his shoulder pad.
The defense held strong. With just over a minute left, they got the ball back just one last drive from their own 35-yard line.
Coach stormed over, barking orders. “We’re playing for field position! Get us close enough for a kick, Donovan. No hero stuff!”
Chase nodded automatically. “Got it.”
But as he jogged back onto the field, the lights glaring overhead, he glanced up toward the stands. And there she was. Sophie. She sat alone, arms tucked around herself, eyes locked on him. Something shifted inside him. He jogged into the huddle. “All right,” he said, voice low, steady. “We’re not going for three. We’re going for the win.”
Tyler raised an eyebrow. “You serious?”
“Dead serious.”
Jake smirked. “Now that’s the Chase I know.”
Chase called the play. A risky play-action rollout deep post. It wasn’t what Coach wanted. But it was what the moment needed. They lined up.
“Blue eighty! Blue eighty! Set—hut!”
The ball snapped. Chase faked the handoff to Jake. The linebackers bit hard. He rolled right, the pocket collapsing behind him. The defense chased, cleats tearing up turf. Chase hit the gap, making up as much ground as she could. The sounds of the crowd seemed to fade as he blocked it out.
He saw Tyler break coverage downfield, cutting across the middle, sprinting for daylight. Chase planted, twisted, and launched the ball. It soared through the air, spinning tight and perfect, slicing through the night sky under the glare of the floodlights.
The crowd fell silent.
Tyler leapt. Hands stretched. Caught. He landed, stumbled and then he was gone, sprinting down the sideline, helmets and bodies diving in vain behind him as his legs pumped.
He crossed into the end zone. Touchdown.
The stadium exploded.
Chase stood still for a moment, breath caught in his throat, the sound of the crowd swelling around him like thunder. Then Jake barreled into him, yelling, and Tyler grabbed him in a bear hug, shouting over the roar.
They had done it.
As the celebrations erupted, Chase pulled off his helmet, his chest heaving. He looked up through the chaos and found her again.
Sophie, standing in the stands, eyes wide, a small, stunned smile curving her lips.
For the first time all week, their eyes met. No awkwardness. No walls. Just something soft and unspoken.
The crowd surged with excitement. Parents cheering, students chanting and the band’s brassy notes punctuating the air. Tyler, Jake and the rest of the team hoisted Chase aloft. Through the chaos of it all he had lost sight of Sophie, having disappeared into the crowd. Once his feet were back on solid ground Chase squinted into the stands, scanning row after row trying to pick out the familiar blonde ponytail of Sophie. But she was nowhere to be seen.
His dad appeared first, striding across the field with a proud smile. “That was some throw, Chase! I’ve seen a lot of quarterbacks in my day, but that was—”
Before he could finish, Coach Carlson jogged up, clapping him on the shoulder. “I gotta say Donovan, that was some call”
Chase nodded, managing a tired grin, letting the congratulations wash over him. “Thanks, guys… really appreciate it.”
His dad’s eyes softened. “I’m proud of you, son. That fourth-quarter play… top-notch. Now, there’s a scout here that wants to speak to you…”
Chase smiled, but then he shook his head slightly. “I…uh… I need to go find someone,” he said, glancing toward the stands.
Coach Carlson raised an eyebrow. “You sure? These scouts don’t just speak with anyone you know”
“I’ll catch up with you all later,” Chase interrupted, set on who he wanted to speak to.
Without waiting for further questions, he weaved through the celebrating players and dodging fans. He finally spotted Sophie walking towards the parking lot.
“Sophie!” he called, jogging toward her, heart racing. His voice cracking with urgency as he caught up to her near the shadowed edge of the parking lot. She turned, surprised, but didn’t back away.
“Chase” she said, slightly stunned by his presence. Her blue eyes widening as she pivoted to face him, her cheeks flushing a soft pink against the cool lighting. Her hands fidgeted with the hem of her jacket. “That was pretty impressive, you should be celebrating”
“I…uh, I need to say something” he stammered as he rubbed his hands through his matted and sweaty hair, dark streaks forming under his eyes from where his eye black was starting to rub off. “I’m sorry about last weekend, I laughed and I shouldn’t have done. It wasn’t… it wasn’t because I thought it was funny in a mean way. It just hit me out of nowhere and I froze.” His gaze dropped to the ground before flickering back to her.
“I like you Sophie. A lot. More than I’ve ever liked anyone”
Sophie’s jaw slackened and she could feel her heart pounding in her chest as she processed his words.
You… like me?” she whispered, her voice fragile, laced with disbelief. Her gut stirred faintly, a subtle reminder of the secret she’d tried to bury. “After that? After I… you know?”
Chase nodded his flush deepening, his hands clenching into fists at his sides as he summoned the courage to go further.
“Yeah, after that. It’s not just despite it—it’s…” He swallowed hard, his Adam’s apple bobbing, his eyes flickering with a mix of fear and resolve.
Sophie’s expression changed as the once unobtainable star footballer confessed his feelings. “I like you too” she smiled, hoping to put him at ease.
Chase’s warm smile deepened as their eyes locked, a profound gaze stretching between them, the world seeming to slow to a hushed standstill. Sophie’s stomach churned with nervous flips, and she instinctively tensed her buttocks, summoning every ounce of her sturdy frame to keep her backdoor sealed tight. In that moment, she became acutely aware of their closeness, noses nearly brushing, the heat radiating from his body mingling with the sudden warmth flooding her own cheeks, her breath catching in her throat.
“Chase!” A loud voice shattered the intimate silence, jolting them apart. Chase spun around to see his father striding toward them, his arm waving frantically in the dim parking lot light, the sound bouncing off the rows of parked cars.
“Son, you can’t keep this scout waiting all night!” his dad boomed, his tone urgent and commanding, cutting through the cool October air.
“I… I gotta go,” Chase stammered, his voice tinged with regret as he jogged toward his father, his figure receding into the shadows.
Sophie, still caught in the moment, suddenly realized she’d been poised on her tiptoes, her body instinctively leaning forward in anticipation of a kiss that never arrived. Her gaze lingered on Chase Donovan’s retreating form, a mix of disappointment and lingering excitement swirling within her as the night settled.
